Treat every gun as if it were loaded at ALL times.

Keep the muzzle pointed in a SAFE direction.

Open the action immediately when you pick up any firearm.

Do not let the muzzle point at anything you are not willing to destroy.

Always wear eye and hearing protection.

Keep your Finger OFF the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

Always check the barrel to be sure it is not obstructed.

Do not rest your hands over the muzzle. Do not rest the muzzle on your foot.

Load only the number of shells that matches the number of targets to be shot.

Open and check the action before leaving the shooting station.

Carry the semi or pump shotgun with the muzzle up and action open and facing out.

Carry the break open shotgun over your forearm or over your shoulder with the muzzle pointed down in front of you.

Never mix different gauges of ammunition.

If you have a miss-fire, keep the muzzle pointed down range and wait for 30 seconds.

Keep your gun locked or in a gun safe.

Be aware of the area behind your target.

Check and use your safety before you start and when you are done.

Guns and Alcohol or Drugs DO NOT MIX

When accepting a shotgun from someone, acknowledge to the other person that you have the gun by saying; got-it, thanks, O.K. etc.
